Thailand
The tropical storm “PABUK (1901)” in the lower Gulf of Thailand made landfall at Pak Phanang District in Nakhon Si thammarat Province at 12.45 P.M. on 4 Jan. then moved through Chang Klang District, Nakhon Sri Thammarat Province and Ao Luek district, Krabi Province before weakened into a tropical depression covered Thap Put district in Phang Nga Province in the morning of 5 Jan. It continued to weaken as it moved further to Andaman Sea and finally degenerated into an area of low pressure in the evening of the same day before moved to cover the upper Andaman Sea on the next day. In addition, the northeast monsoon which prevailed over the Gulf of Thailand and southern part weakened during late period. These caused abundant rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall in several areas in southern part during the early period then decreasing in rainfall. The flash floods and gusts were reported in several areas during the early period. Moreover, the active high pressure area cover upper Thailand during the first half of the period then weakened associated with the southeasterly wind prevailed over upper Thailand during the second half of the period. In addition, the westerly trough moved to cover the northern part during the middle of the period then moved to cover Laos and upper Vietnam respectively. These conditions caused cool weather remained in upper Thailand with cold weather in upper portion of the northern part during the early period. Rainfall occurred in some areas nearly the whole period with heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas during the second half of the period.    
Northern Part
Generally cool weather nearly the whole period with cold weather in upper portion during the early period. Cold to very cold weather in mountainous areas and mountain tops. Isolated rain with heavy rainfall in some areas except for scattered to fairly widespread rain with heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas on 8 and 9 Jan. 96.4 mm at Mae Jai Phayao on 8 Jan.  12.0 º C at Chiang Rai Agromet Stn. Chiang Rai on 4 Jan. (4.8 º C at Ang Khang Royal Agricultural Station Chiang Mai on 4 Jan.)  
Northeastern Part
Generally cool weather nearly the whole period. Cold weather in mountainous areas and mountain tops. Light to moderate rain occurred in some areas on 8 and 9 Jan. 15.0 mm at Dan Sai Loei on 8 Jan   15.5 º C at Kamalasai Kalasin on 4 Jan. (9.0 º C at Phuluang Wildlife Sanctuary Loei on 4 Jan.  
Central Part
Cool weather in some areas nearly the whole period. Isolated rain almost the whole period with heavy rainfall in some areas at Nakhon Sawan province on 8 Jan. 69.0 mm at Lat Yao Nakhon Sawan on 8 Jan.  18.7 º C at Thong Pha Phum Kanchanaburi on 4 Jan. 
Eastern Part
Cool weather in some areas mainly in upper portion. Isolated to scattered rain almost the whole period. 25.5 mm at Rayong Self-Help Settlement Rayong on 9 Jan.  20.3 º C at Sanam Chai Khet Chachoengsao on 4 Jan. 
Southern Part (East Coast)
Cool weather in several areas during the early period then increasing in temperature with cool weather remained in some areas. Widespread rain with heavy to very heavy rainfall in several areas during the early period then isolated to scattered rain with heavy rainfall in some areas. Flood occurred at Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces nearly the whole period and the gusts occurred at Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phatthalung provinces on 4 Jan. 309.3 mm at Chawang Nakhon Si Thammarat on 4 Jan.  21.0 º C at Kho Hong Agromet Stn. Songkhla on 4 Jan. at Sadao Songkhla on 4 Jan. at Phra Sang Surat Thani on 4 Jan.  
Southern Part (West Coast)
Cool weather in several areas during the early period then increasing in temperature with cool weather remained in some areas. Widespread rain with heavy to very heavy rainfall in several areas during the early period then isolated light rain on 6 and 9 Jan. Flash flood occurred at Ranong, Krabi and Trang on 5 Jan. 174.0 mm at Pak Jan Self-Help Settlement Ranong on 4 Jan.  22.0 º C at Khao Phanom Krabi on 4,5 Jan. at Takua Pa Phang Nga on 10 Jan.  
Metropolitan
Cool weather in some areas. Isolated light rain almost the whole period. 8.1 mm at Taweetha Phisek 2 School Khet Bang Khun Thian on 8 Jan. (2.6 mm at Bang Phli Samut Prakan on 5 Jan.)   22.6 º C at Don Muang Airport Khet Don Muang on 4 Jan. (21.6 º C at Kamphaeng Saen Nakhon Pathom on 9 Jan.)
