Thailand
The high pressure area covered upper Thailand throughout the week associated with another active high pressure area from China extended its ridge to cover the mentioned areas during the second half of the week. These conditions caused generally cool weather in upper Thailand almost the week with cold weather in the northern and northeastern parts. For the southern part, with the prevailing of the rather strong northeast monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and the southern part almost the week coupled with the low pressure cell covered the coast of Malaysia on 5-6 Jan. caused abundant rainfall in the southern part almost the week mainly along the east coast from Surat Thani province southward.    
Northern Part
Cold weather nearly the whole areas in the upper portion during the first half of the week then increasing in temperature but cold weather remained in some areas in the upper portion whereas the lower portion was cool in general. Cold to very cold weather in mountainous areas and mountain tops. 9.1 º C at Umphang Tak on 4 Jan. (3.4 º C at Kew Mae Pan, Doi Inthanon Chiang Mai on 4 Jan.)  
Northeastern Part
Cold weather in several areas in the upper portion during the beginning and the middle of the week whereas the lower portion was cool in general then the temperature dropped until generally cold weather. Cold to very cold weather in mountainous areas and mountain tops. 9.8 º C at Nakhon Phanom Agromet. Stn. Nakhon Phanom on 10 Jan. (6.5 º C at Phu Kradueng National Park Loei on 10 Jan.)  
Central Part
Generally cool weather during the beginning of the week and the weekend whereas cool weather nearly the whole areas for the rest days. 16.1 º C at Chai Badan Lopburi on 10 Jan. 
Eastern Part
Cool weather in several areas during the beginning and the middle of the week then the temperature dropped until cool weather nearly the whole areas. Light rain occurred in some areas on 5 Jan. 0.1 mm at Khlong Yai Trat on 5 Jan.  16.4 º C at Mueang Sa Kaeo on 10 Jan. (12.8 º C at Khao Kheow, Mueang Nakhon Nayok on 10 Jan.)  
Southern Part (East Coast)
Cool weather in several areas almost the week. Scattered to fairly widespread rain with heavy rainfall in some areas from Surat Thani province southward almost the week and very heavy rainfall in some areas on 5-6 Jan. Flooding occurred at Narathiwat and Yala provinces on 5-10 Jan. and at Songkhla and Pattani provinces on 6-10 Jan. Landslide occurred at Yala provinces on 5-6 Jan. 290.2 mm at Sukhirin Narathiwat on 5 Jan.  18.4 º C at Nong Phlub Agromet. Stn. Prachuap Khiri Khan on 10 Jan. 
Southern Part (West Coast)
Cool weather in several areas. Scattered to fairly widespread rain on 4, 6, 7 and 10 Jan. with heavy rainfall in some areas on 4 Jan. and isolated rain for the rest days. 48.5 mm at Khao Chong Botanical Garden Trang on 4 Jan.  21.1 º C at Phuket Airport Phuket on 5, 8 Jan. 
Metropolitan
Cool weather nearly the whole areas during the beginning of the week and the weekend with cold weather in some areas of Nakhon Pathom province on 10 Jan. whereas cool weather in some areas during the middle of the week. 20.3 º C at Bangna Agromet. Stn. Khet Bangna on 10 Jan. Vicinity (15.8 º C at Kamphaeng Saen Nakhon Pathom on 10 Jan.)
