Weather Warning "Heavy to very heavy Rains in upper Thailand and the South" No. 8 Time Issued : May 22, 2022 |

The low-pressure cell covers northern Thailand, and the monsoon trough lies across the North and the Northeast of the country. In addition, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Thundershowers and strong winds are forecast in overall country while isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East, and the upper South. People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows. All transports take more caution during the phenomena. Farmers should prevent for crop damage. Affected areas are as followings: 22 May 2022 North: Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun. Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Kalasin, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani. Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi. East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong and Phang Nga. 23 May 2022 North: Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun and Tak. Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani. Central: Uthai Thani, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi. East: Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong and Phang Nga. The rather strong winds force the waves in the upper Andaman Sea 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters in thundershowers, as well as the upper Gulf about 2 meters high and thundershowers above 2 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore lasting 24 May.
