Subject: Tropical
storm PABUK over the lower South China Sea
No.7 (349/2024)
At 4.00 a.m.
LST (24
December
2024), Tropical storm PABUK over the lower South China Sea was centered about 545
kilometers northeast of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam or at latitude 11.6 degrees north
and longitude 111.8 degrees east. With maximum sustained winds about 65 km./hr.
This storm is moving northwest at a speed of 11
km/hr., and move near eastern coast of Vietnam during 24-25 December 2024. It
is likely to downgrade respectively. This causes the easterly and southeasterly
winds will bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to upper
Thailand with isolated rains in the lower North, the Northeast, the Central
including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East while more rains are forecast
in the South during 25-26 December
2024. People
in the areas should keep healthy due to the variable weather and farmers should
prepare for crop’s damage due to isolated rains.
The
moderate wind and waves in the Gulf are likely about 2 meters high, and above 2
meters high in thundershowers. In the Andaman Sea, the waves are likely about 1
meter high, 1-2 meters high offshore and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All
ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
