Subject: Cool to cold in Thailand
Heavy to very heavy rains in the South and Strong wind-waves in the Gulf
No. 1 (307/2023)
During 20-25 Dec, the strong high-pressure system from China will extend to Thailand and the South China Sea with cool to cold weather and strong wind. A decrease in temperature by 5–8 °C is likely in the Northeast, a decrease in temperature by 4–6 °C is likely the North and a decrease in temperature by 3–5 °C is likely in the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East while 2–4 °C decrease in temperature is likely in the upper South. People in the country should keep healthy and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air.
The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthen Meanwhile, an active low-pressure cell over the lower South China Sea will move through the lower South and Malaysia into the lower Andaman Sea during 22-25 Dec. lead heavy to very heavy rains in the lower South with scattered heavy to very heavy rains in the lower South. People in the lower south should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. At the same time, the strong wind forces the waves in the Gulf up to 2-4 meters high and above 4 meters high in thundershowers. People along the South (east coast) shore should beware of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the Gulf should keep ashore lasting 25 Dec.
