Active Low-Pressure Cell No. 10 (257/2023)

The active low-pressure cell covers northeastern Thailand while the monsoon trough lies across upper Thailand. Scattered heavy rains, as well as some very heavy rains, are forecast in the North, the Northeast, Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South regions. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All transport takes more caution.

Affected areas are as followings:        

27 September 2023 

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.

Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.

Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon including Bangkok and its vicinity.

East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

28 September 2023 

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.

Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et and Amnat Charoen.

Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom,

Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.

Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lopburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi including Bangkok and its vicinity.

East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong.

South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon.

From 27 to 29 September, the rather southwesterly wind prevails across the  Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. The waves in the upper Andaman Sea are 2-3 meters high and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, waves are  about 2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore.
