Subject: Heavy Rainfall in the South
No.2 (320/2024)
During 3-5 Dec, an active low-pressure cell over the lower South China Sea will move through the lower Gulf and the South into the lower Andaman Sea. Heavy rains are likely in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun and isolated very heavy rains are in Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat of the South. People in the lower south should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
The moderated wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers while 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers in the upper Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
