Subject: Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in Thailand
and Strong
Wind-Waves in Andaman Sea
No. 5 (119/2024)

The rather strong southwest monsoon
prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf.
The monsoon trough lies across the North and the Northeast into the low pressure
cell over the coastal upper Vietnam. Isolated
heavy rains are likely in the country and isolated very heavy rains are
possible in the east and the South west-coast regions. People should beware of
severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows and take more
caution in thundershowers.
Affected areas are as follows:
On 23 June 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Lopburi, Saraburi including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat
Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong,
Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.
On 24 June 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, Kamphaeng Phet and Tak.
Northeast: Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Saraburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.
On 25-26 June 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya,
Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram,
Samut Sakhon including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan,
Chumphon, Ranong,
Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.
In addition, the rather strong wind forces the wave up to 2-3 meters high in the Andaman Sea and above 3 meters high in thundershowers while the waves in the upper Gulf are about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the Andaman Sea should keep ashore. Please stay tuned for the weather update.
