Weather Advisory
Subject: Heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand,
Strong Wind-Waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf

The strong monsoon trough lies across the upper North and the upper Northeast into the
low-pressure cell over the upper South China Sea of Thailand while the rather
strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South, the Gulf,
the Central and the East with more rains and scattered heavy to isolated very heavy
rains. People should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash
floods and overflows, especially, along water ways and lowland and take more
caution in thundershowers.
Affected areas are as follows:
On 18 July 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Chaiyaphum,
Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani,
Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham,
Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon
Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and
Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, Phang Nga and Phuket.
On 19 July 2024
North: Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Tak, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Kanchanaburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Ranong and Phang Nga.
2/ The rather …
The rather strong wind forces the wave up to 2-3 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf with above 3 meters high in thundershower areas while the waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf are about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershower areas. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore by lasting 19 July 2024.
