Subject: Heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand,
Strong Wind-Waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf

During 15–18 July 2024, the strong monsoon trough will lie across the North and the Northeast of Thailand into an active low-pressure cell over the middle coast of Vietnam, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf with more rain and heavy rains while isolated very heavy rains in some areas. People should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially, along water ways and lowland and take more caution in thundershowers.
Affected areas are as follows:
On 15 July 2024
North: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham,
Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin,
Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong,
Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi.
On 16 July 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit and Phetchabun.

The rather strong wind forces the wave up to 2-3 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf with above 3 meters high in thundershower areas while the waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf are about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershower areas. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore during 15–18 July 2024.
