to very heavy rain in Thailand,
Strong
Wind-Waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf
No. 6 (222/2023)

The rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea,
Thailand and the Gulf. Meanwhile, the weak monsoon trough will lie across upper
Myanmar and upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over upper Vietnam. More
rains are likely in the whole country and isolated heavy to very heavy rains
are possible in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South
regions. People should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash
floods and overflows, especially, along water ways and lowland and take more
caution in thundershowers.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 14 August 2023
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang
Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lamphun, Lampang, Uttaradit, Tak, Phitsanulok and
Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai,
Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen and
Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram and Samut
Sakhon.
East: Nakhon
Nayok, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga,
Phuket, Krabi,
Trang
and Satun.
On 15 August 2023

The rather strong wind forces the wave up to 2-3 meters high in
the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and above 3 meters high in
thundershowers while the waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf are 1-2
meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore. Please stay tuned for the weather update.
