The strong monsoon trough lies across the North, the Central and the Northeast of Thailand while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the country. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially, along waterways and lowlands, and take more caution in thundershowers.
Affected areas are as followings:
1 September 2023
North: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lampang, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom, including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
2 September 2023
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.

South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
The rather strong wind forces the wave up to 2-3 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers while the waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf are 1-2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore. Please stay tuned for the weather update.
