Subject: Heavy to very heavy rains in Thailand,
Strong Wind-Waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf

During 21-23 September 2024, the rather strong monsoon trough lies across the North, the Central and the Northeast while the active low-pressure cell cover the eastern portion of lower North. Meanwhile the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Isolated heavy are likely over the whole country with very heavy rains in someplaces in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East. People in these areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands.
Affected areas are as follows:
On 21 September 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan,
Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Chaiyaphum,
Khon Kaen and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat,
Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi,
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi.
On 22 September 2024

Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat,
Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Lopburi, Saraburi,
Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom,
Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo,
Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi
and Trat.
South: Ranong.
During 21-22 September 2024, the rather strong wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf, the waves have about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore.
