Subject: Heavy to very heavy rains in Thailand,
Strong Wind-Waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf

During 3-7 Sep,
the monsoon trough lie across the lower North, the Northeast and the Central of
Thailand into the low-pressure cell the middle
South China Sea. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman
Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen. More rains and heavy rains are
likely in many places of the country with isolated very heavy rains are
possible in the Northeast, the Central,
the East and the South. People in the areas should beware of heavy to very
heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows,
especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands.
Affected areas are as follows:
On 3 September 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong
Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin,
Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Lopburi,
Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Songkhram, Samut
Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi
including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo,
Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi.
During 4-5 September 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Yasothon, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat,
Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphanburi,
Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut
Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathomincluding Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo,
Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi
and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
During 6-7 September 2024
North: Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani,
Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphanburi,
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom including
Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa
Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi.
During 4-7 Sep, the strengthening wind and wave in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are likely 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf, the waves have 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore during 4-7 Sep.
In addition, tropical storm “YAGI” over the Philippines is expected to intensify to severe tropical storm for the next phase. This storm is likely to move to the upper south China Sea during 3-4 Sep. It is forecast to make landfall over southern China during 7-8 Sep.
