to very heavy rains in Thailand,
Strong
Wind-Waves in the Andaman Sea
No. 10 (191/2024)

During 16-17 September 2024, the
monsoon trough lie across the lower North, upper Central, and Northeast of
Thailand, extending into the low-pressure cell over central Vietnam, while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the
Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf. More rain and isolated heavy rainfall are
likely across the country, with isolated very heavy rains possible in the
Northeast, Central, East, and South (west coast) regions. People in these areas
should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation, which may cause
flash floods and overflows, especially in foothill areas near waterways and
lowlands.

On 16 September 2024
North: Chiang
Rai, Phayao, Lampang, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phichit, Tak, Phitsanulok
and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei,
Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat
Charoen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Surin, Buri Ram, Si Sa Ket, Nong Khai,
Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Kalasin and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Chainat, Singburi, Ang
Thong, Lopburi, Saraburi, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom and Phra Nakhon Si
Ayutthaya including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon
Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and
Trat.
South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si
Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Yala, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang

The rather strong wind forces
the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3
meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf, the
waves have about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All
ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in
the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore until 20 September 2024.
