Subject: Storm “KAJIKI”

and heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand

No.11 (214/2025)

            At 4.00 a.m. LST (25 August 2025), typhoon “KAJIKI” over the upper South China Sea was centered about 200 kilometers east of Vinh, Vietnam or at latitude 18.3 degrees north and longitude 107.6 degrees east with maximum sustained winds about 150 km./hr. This storm is moving west-northwest with a speed of 20 km/hr. The storm is forecast to make landfall over upper Vietnam and will downgrade to tropical storm by tomorrow (25 August). And it is forecast to move to upper Laos and will downgrade to tropical depression by morning 26 August. This storm likely to downgrade to an active low-pressure cell over Nan, Thailand by afternoon 26 August. During 25 – 26 August, isolated heavy to very heavy rain with strong winds are likely in the upper Northeast first then the North during 25 – 27 August. People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rain, strong wind and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.

North:               Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun.

Northeast:          Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
                        Nakhon             Phanom, Mukdahan, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central:             Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom,
                        including Bangkok and its vicinity.                                                                      

East:                  Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
South:               Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi.

                        and its vicinity.

East:                  Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, ChonBuri, Rayong, Chanthaburi,
                        and Trat.
South:               Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phang Nga, and Phuket.

and Kamphaeng Phet.

Northeast:          Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
                        Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, and Ubon Ratchathani.
East:                  Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
South:               Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phang Nga, and Phuket.

The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore.
