Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 3 (73/2023)
During 12 - 14 March 2023, the moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to cover the upper Thailand and the South China Sea while there is hot in the upper country. At the same time, the westerly trough will move to the North. Summer storms, thunderstorms with gust and hails are likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East, including Bangkok and its vicinity. People should beware of the severe condition by keeping off open-air, big trees and unsecured billboards, and farmers should prevent for crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 12 March 2023
North: Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lam Phu and Udon Thani.
On 13 March 2023
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Central: Nakhon
Sawan, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya including Bangkok and
its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 14 March 2023
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
The advisory is in effect on 10 March 2023, at 5.00 p.m.
This next issue will be at 11 March 2023, at 5.00 a.m.
