Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 7 (58/2024)
The high-pressure system from China covers the east area of the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea while the southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country. Outbreak of summer storms, gusty winds and hail including lightning strike are likely in some areas of the lower North, the Northeast, the Central and the East regions. People in the upper country should beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 9 March 2024
North: Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima and Buriram.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong.
Central: Saraburi, Ratchaburi and Samut Sakhon including Bangkok and its victicity.
On 10 March 2024
Northeast: Nakhon Ratchasima and Buriram.
The advisory is in effect on 9 March 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
