Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 8 (75/2024)
The high-pressure system from China will extend to cover the upper Thailand and the South China Sea while there is hot to very hot weather in the upper country. Meanwhile, the westerly trough will move to the Myanmar and the upper North of Thailand. Outbreak of summer storms are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike are expected in the Northeast at first, then will effect on the rest regions. People in the upper country should beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 10 April 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Chaiyaphum and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its victicity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong.
On 11 April 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan,
Phrae and Tak.
The advisory is in effect on 10 April 2024, at 5.00 a.m.
This next issue will be on 10 April 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
