Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 9 (87/2024)
During 5 – 7 May 2024, the confluence of southeasterly and southerly winds prevail over the Northeast, the East, the Central and the lower North regions while hot to very hot weather occurs in the upper country. Outbreak of summer storms are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike in the upper country. People in the upper country should stay safe from severe weather conditions by keeping off outdoor places, large trees, and unsecured buildings. Farmers should prevent for crop damage and animals’ danger.
During 8 – 10 May, the confluence of southeasterly and southerly winds prevails over the upper Thailand with thundershower and isolated heavy rain in the upper Thailand.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 5 May 2024
North: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua
Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon
Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum,
Nakhon
Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin,
Sisaket
and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Lopburi, Saraburi, Uthai Thani,
Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 6-7 May 2024
