Subject: Summer Thunderstorm in the upper Thailand
(Effect during 12-14 Apr 2025)

During 12-14 Apr, the high-pressure system from China will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea leading to the easterly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country where hot to very hot weather occurs. Outbreaks of summer storms are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike are likely in some areas of the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East regions.
Affected areas are as followings
On 12 April 2025
North: Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lop Buri and Saraburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri and Sa Kaeo.
On 13 April 2025
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang,
Kamphaeng Phet and Tak.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Ayutthaya, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Prathom including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 14 April 2025
North: Mae Hong Son and Tak.
Central: Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Prathom
including Bangkok and its vicinity.
People in the upper country should keep healthy due to changeable weather and beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards and farmers should prevent for crops damage and animals danger.
This advisory is in effect on 10 April 2025, at 5.00 p.m.
