Subject: Summer Thunderstorm in the upper Thailand
(Effect until 1 May 2025)

The high-pressure system covers Vietnam and the South China Sea leading to the southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture to the upper country where hot weather occurs. Meanwhile, the westerly trough move pass the North through the upper Northeast and upper Laos. Thundershowers, gusty wind and isolated heavy rains including lightning strike in some areas are likely in thease areas.
Affected areas are as followings
1 May 2025
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang,
Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani,
Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen,
Nakhon Ratchasima, and Buriram.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.
People in the upper country should beware of heavy rains and severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. All transports take more caution during the phenomena. Farmers should prevent for crop damage and animals’ danger.
The final advisory is in effect on 1 May 2025, at 5.00 p.m.
