Subject: Tropical Storm “Soulik”
At 04.00 a.m. LST (20 September 2024), the tropical storm “Soulik” was down to the tropical depression cover Khammouane province, Laos. It was centered about 100 km northeast of Nakhon Phanom or at latitude 18.0 degrees north and longitude 105.5 degrees east. With maximum sustained winds about 55 km./hr. This storm was moving west slowly. This storm is expected to be an active low-pressure cell in the future.
Isolated very heavy rains with strong wind are possible in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South. People in the areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains with strong winds and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands.
Affected areas of heavy rain to very heavy rain are as followings:

North: Chiang Mai, Lampang, Lamphun, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Tak, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Singburi, Ang Thong, Lopburi, Saraburi and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

South: Ranong and Phang Nga.
The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the South. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-4 meters high and above 4 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf, the waves have about 2meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore.
