Subject: Variable weather in the upper Thailand, Heavy Rainfall in
the South and the Strong wind and wave in the Lower Gulf
(Effect during 16-20 Mar 2025)

During 16-20 Mar 2025, the rather strong high-pressure system from China will extend to the upper Thailand where hot to very hot weather occurs and the South China Sea. Outbreak of summer storms, gusty winds and hail including lightning strike are likely in some areas of the upper Thailand in the first period, after that a decrease in temperature by 5-8 °C in the Northeast with strong wind while a decrease in temperature by 2-4 °C in the rest regions with strong wind. People in the upper country and the upper South should stay safe from the severe weather conditions by keeping off outdoor places, large trees and unsecured buildings. Farmers should prevent for crops damage and livestock danger. People in the upper country should keep healthy due to variable weathers.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 16 March 2025
North: Nan, Uttaradit, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Kalasin, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong,
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom,
Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 17 March 2025
North: Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Kamphaeng Phet, Sukhothai and Tak.
Central: Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom,
Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
During 17-20 Mar, the easterly and southeasterly winds prevailing over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea will strengthen with more rains and isolated heavy rains in the South. The strengthening wind and waves in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters and above 3 meters high in thundershowers while, in the upper Gulf up to 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf and Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers area. Small boats in the lower Gulf and offshore of the Andaman Sea should keep ashore.
