Subject: Variable Weather in upper Thailand
No.7 (7/2024)
During 14–16 January 2024, the westerly trough will move pass the upper Thailand while another rather moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea with the southeasterly wind prevails over the upper Gulf, the lower Central and the East. Thunderstorm with gusty winds and hails in some areas are expected in the North, the upper Northeast, the Central includes Bangkok and vicinity with a decrease in temperature by 1-3 °C is likely in the North and the Northeast while slightly decrease in temperature is likely in the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East region. People in the upper country should beware of the severe condition by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 14 January 2024
North: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Nan, Phrae, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet,
Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum,
Ratchaburi and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
On 15-16 January 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet and Tak.
Northeast: Loei.
Central: Kanchanaburi.
The advisory is in effect on 14 January 2023, at 5.00 p.m.
This next issue will be on 15 January 2023, at 5.00 a.m.
