Subject: Variable weather over Thailand
No.5 (228/2024)
During 19 – 21 Oct, another high-pressure system from China will extend to the upper North, the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea lead to the easterly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to upper Thailand while the monsoon trough will lie across the middle south and the lower Central into the low-pressure cell over the East and the upper South. More rains with gusty wind and heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the country for the first period. People in the areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands and keep healthy due to the changeable weather.
Affected areas are as follows:
On 19 October 2024
Northeast: Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya,
Kanchanaburi,
Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon,
Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi.
On 20 October 2024
North: Tak and Kamphaeng Phet.
Northeast: Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat,
Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi,
Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut
Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong and Phang Nga.
On 21 October 2024
Central: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Samut Songkhram.
East: Chonburi and Rayong.
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
The wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will strengthen. The waves in the Andaman Sea are 1-2 meters high while the waves in the Gulf are about 1 meter high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
The advisory is in effect on 19 October 2024, at 5.00 a.m.
