Subject: Variable weather over the upper Thailand
No.11 (223/2024)
The moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to the North and the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea while the monsoon trough will lie across the Central, the East regions and the upper South. Variable weather, thundershowers, gusty winds and isolated heavy rains are likely in the upper country while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Central including Bangkok and Vicinity and the East. After that a decrease in temperature by 2-4 °C with strong wind are likely in the Northeast. People in upper Thailand should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands and keep healthy due to the changeable weather.
Affected areas are as followings:
3 October 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Central: Nakhon
Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Singburi, Saraburi, Suphanburi,
Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi,
Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani,
Nakhon Si Thammarat
and Songkhla.
In addition, typhoon “KRATHON” is expected to move pass Taiwan, China with no effect on Thailand’s weather.
This final advisory is in effect on 3 October 2024, at 5.00 a.m.
