Today (13 Oct 2022), the active low pressure area in middle of South China Sea was intensified into tropical depression at 7.00 a.m. Consequently, at 4.00 p.m., the depression over east over the middle South China Sea center located at latitude 13.0 degrees north and longitude 114.0 degrees east. With the maximum sustained winds of about 56 km/hr, the storm was moving west-northwest about 15 km/hr. It is expected to intensify into tropical storm, which will make landfall over the coast of middle Vietnam, on 14 to 15 October before weakening to an active low pressure. On 14 and 15 October, it will affect more rain in the Northeast, the East and the Central regions including Bangkok and its vicinity. There is also a chance of heavy rains in some of the Northeast provinces: Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani. People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothills near waterways and lowlands.
