Weather Warning "Cold Spells over Upper Thailand and Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in Lower South and Strong Wind Waves in Gulf"

The strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf of Thailand and the South. The low pressure covers Malaysia and the lower South. Isolated severe rain is forecast for following provinces: Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. People should beware of the severe weather conditions and possible flash flood.
(The strong winds lead to waves high 2-4 meters in the Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore. People should beware of inshore surge until 4 January 2017.
(The westerly trough from Myanmar move across the North forcing thundershowers, possible hails and gusty winds. Affected areas are possible for Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lamphun and Lampang. The moderate high pressure covers upper Thailand affects outbreaks of cool spells likely in the areas. Mountaintops of the North and the Northeast still have cold to very cold spells with minimum 3-8 °C. People should keep warm and stay safe due to the change of weather conditions.
