Weather Warning "Heavy to very heavy Rains in Lower South and Strong Wind in Gulf"

The rather strong high pressure from China extends to the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea. It is expected cover to upper Thailand by today (21 January 2017). The strong northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf and the South and outbreaks of heavy to torrential rains in following provinces: Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. During 22-25 January, provinces are Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. People should beware of severe conditions and possible flash flood. Areas prone to landslide are still cautious, and people follow closely the weather update.
During 21-25 January, the strong winds over the lower Gulf force waves up to 2-3 meters. People along the Gulf should beware of inshore surges. All ships proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore.
