Weather Warning "Heavy to very heavy Rains in Lower South and Strong Wind in Gulf"
No. 39 Time Issued January 24, 2017
The rather strong high pressure over Thailand and the South China Sea affects strengthening of the northeast monsoon across the Gulf. Outbreaks of heavy rains will be likely in following provinces: Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat persist to 25 January. People should beware of severe conditions and possible flash flood. Areas prone to landslide are still cautious, and people follow closely the weather update.
The strong winds stay over the lower Gulf forcing waves up to 2-3 meters. People along the Gulf side should beware of inshore surges. All ships proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore during few days.
After 26 January, decreasing in rain over the lower South while wind-wave will weaken but persist strong wave in the lower Songkhla.
The advisory is in effect on 24 January 2017 at 11.00 p.m.
