"Typhoon DAMREY and Severe Rain and Strong Winds in South"
No. 3 Time Issued November 3, 2017
1. Typhoon DAMREY due 300km east of Ho Chi Mint, Vietnam or latitude 12.8 degree North, longitude 111.6 degree East. With sustained winds of 120 km/hr, it is moving west at speed of 20 km/hr to the coast of lower Vietnam by 4 November. The storm will decline before coving Cambodia.
2. The active low pressure cell covers the Gulf of Thailand and the lower South. Abundant rain still occur over the South that has torrential downpours in many areas. People should beware of possible flash flood and strong winds. Affected areas are Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
The strong wind waves 2-3 meters high are likely in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore. People in the South (east coast) should beware of inshore surge.
