"Tropical Storm KAITAK"
No. 2 Time Issued December 20, 2017
At 10.00 a.m. today (20 December), tropical storm KAITAK locates at latitude 8.1 °N, longitude 112.8 °E with maximum sustained wind of 65 km/hr. It is moving west-southwest at a speed of 15 km/hr. During 22-24 December, it is forecast to decline as a tropical depression moving near Malaysia and the lower South of Thailand. There remains an increase of rainfall volume with torrential downpour especially in provinces of Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Trang and Stun. Residents keep watch for inshore surge and possible flash flood. Rough sea will be likely 2-4 meters high in the lower Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.
The strong high pressure over upper Thailand bring about the North outbreaks of continuous cold spells decreasing by 1-2 °C. People stay safe and keep healthy.
