"Tropical Storm KAITAK "

At 4.00 a.m. today (21 December), tropical storm KAITAK locates at latitude 7.0 °N, longitude 110.0 °E with maximum sustained wind of 74 km/hr. It is moving west at a speed of 30 km/hr. During 22-24 December, it is forecast to decline as a tropical depression moving near Malaysia and the lower South of Thailand. There remains an increase of rainfall volume with torrential downpour especially in provinces of Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Trang and Stun. Residents keep watch for inshore surge and possible flash flood. Rough sea will be likely 2-4 meters high in the lower Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.
The strong high pressure over upper Thailand begins weak with a rise in temperature but still brings about the North outbreaks of continuous cold spells. People stay safe and keep healthy.
