1. Heavy rain and Strong Wind-waves in South
The strong northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf of Thailand and the South bringing isolated downpours in the South (from Surat Thani passing south) with rough sea 2-3 meters high in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea. People should beware the severe condition during this period. Residents along the Gulf’s shore should watch for inshore surge. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats in the Gulf keep ashore lasting 15 January.
2. Colder Conditions in Upper Thailand
During 12-15 January, the strong high-pressure system covers upper Thailand with colder spells dropping by 2-4 °C with strong winds in the area. The mountaintops will see cold to very cold spells in the North and the Northeast with minimum temperature about 4-10 °C. During 13-14 January, Bangkok and its vicinity sees minimum temperature in range of 16-18 °C. People should keep healthy.
