1. Heavy rain and Strong Wind-waves in South
During 14-15 January, the strong northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf of Thailand and the lower South bringing isolated downpours in Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Rough sea 2-3 meters high are likely in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea. People should beware of the severe conditions. Residents along the Gulf’s shore should watch for inshore surge. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats in the Gulf keep ashore lasting 15 January.
2. Colder Conditions in Upper Thailand
During 14-15 January, the strong high-pressure system over upper Thailand is weakening. There remains cold spells dropping by 1-2 °C with strong winds in the North. The mountaintops will see cold to very cold spells in the North and the Northeast with minimum temperature about 5-12 °C. People should keep healthy.
