Weather Advisory
Subject: Strong Wind Wave and Heavy to Very Heavy Rains
No. 24 (184/2023)
(Effective until June 11, 2023)
----------------------------
The monsoon trough lies across the upper portion of the North and the upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over the Gulf of Tonkin. At the same time, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand. Isolated heavy rains are forecast in the country and isolated very heavy rains are possible in the East. People should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially, along foothills near waterways and lowlands.
The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea up to 2-3 meters high, above 3 meters high in thundershowers and about 2 meters high in the upper Gulf with above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore lasting 11 June 2023.
This final advisory is in effect on 11 June 2023 at 5.00 p.m.
