Subject: Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in Thailand
and Strong
Wind-Waves in Andaman Sea
No. 2 (116/2024)

During 22-26 June 2024, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf, the monsoon trough will lies across the North and the Northeast. While the low pressure cell over middle South China Sea will be strengthen. More rains and isolated heavy rains are likely in the country and isolated very heavy rains are possible in the east and the South west-coast regions. People should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows and take more caution in thundershowers.
Affected areas are as follows:
On 22 June 2024
Northeast: Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen,
Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Songkhram.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.
On 23-24 June 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua
Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen,
Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Songkhram.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.
On 25-26 June 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak and Phitsanulok.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Songkhram.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.
In addition, the rather strong wind forces the wave up to 2-3 meters high in the Andaman Sea and above 3 meters high in thundershowers while the waves in the Gulf are 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the Andaman Sea should keep ashore. Please stay tuned for the weather update.
