Subject: Heavy Rain in the South and Strong Wind-Waves in the Gulf
No. 6 (27/2023)
From 21 to 25 January, the rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South with more rains and isolated heavy to very heavy rains. People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothill near waterways and lowlands.
Affected areas are as followings:
During 21-22 January 2023
South: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla,
Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat,
Trang and Satun.
During 23-25 January 2023
South: Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
In the Gulf, the wind forces the waves are 2-3 meters high and in thundershowers more than 3 meters high. Residents along the South (east coast) should beware of inshore surges. All ship of both Gulf and Andaman proceed with caution. Small boats keep ashore.
The advisory is in effect on 21 January 2023, at 5.00 p.m.
