Subject: Heavy to very Heavy Rainfall in the South
No.4 (304/2024)
The strengthening northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea with more rains and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. Isolated heavy rains in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun. People in the South should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially in the foothills near the waterways and the lowland areas. The moderated wind forces the waves in the gulf and the Andaman Sea. The waves in the lower Gulf up to about 2 meters high, 1-2 meters in the upper gulf and about 1 meter in the Andaman Sea, 1-2 meters high offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
