Subject: Heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand,
Strong Wind-Waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf

The southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf is strengthening. Meanwhile, the weak monsoon trough will lie across upper Myanmar and upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over upper Vietnam. More rains are likely in the whole country and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South regions. People should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially, along water ways and lowland and take more caution in thundershowers.
Affected areas are as followings:
12 August 2023
North: Chiang Rai, Phayao and Nan.
Northeast: Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.
13 August 2023
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lum Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Saraburi and Kanchanaburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
14 - 15 August 2023
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lampang Uttaradit, Tak, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom.
Central: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
The rather strong wind forces the wave up to 2-3 meters high in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and above 3 meters high in thundershowers while the waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf are 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore. Please stay tuned for the weather update.
