Weather Advisory
Subject: Heavy Rain in South and Strong Wind-Waves in Gulf
No. 25 (46/2023)
The strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf of Thailand, the South region and the Andaman Sea. Heavy rains are likely in some of provinces Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. People in the lower South should beware of heavy rains that may cause flash floods and accumulated rains.
In the lower Gulf of Thailand, the rather strong wind forces the waves up to 2-3 meters high and in thundershowers more than 3 meters high. People along the east coast of the South region should beware of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the lower Gulf keep ashore lasting 31 January 2023.
Since the strong high-pressure system covers Thailand and the South China Sea with cooler weather and strong winds, people in Thailand should keep healthy and beware of fire due to dry air and strong winds.
The advisory is in effect on 31 January 2023, at 5.00 a.m.
This is the final advisory for this event.
