Subject: Heavy Rain in the South and Strong Wind-Waves in the Gulf

No. 9 (30/2023)

From 23 to 25 January, the rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South with more rains and isolated heavy rains. People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothill near waterways and lowlands.

            Affected areas are as followings:

                  During 23-25 January 2023

          South: Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

            In the Gulf, the wind forces the waves up to 2-3 meters high and in thundershowers more than 3 meters high. Residents along the South (east coast) should beware of inshore surges. All ship of both Gulf and Andaman proceed with caution. Small boats keep ashore.                                                          

The advisory is in effect on 23 January 2023, at 5.00 a.m.
