Subject: Heavy Rain in the South and Strong Wind-Waves in the Gulf
No. 10 (10/2023)
The strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South while the low-pressure cell over the lower South China Sea and expected to move near the coast of Tip of Indochina. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the lower South affected areas are as around: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. Meanwhile the strong wind forces the waves in the Gulf up to 2 – 4 meters high and above 4 meters high in thundershowers.
People in the lower south should beware of severe condition that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. All ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution, keep off thundershowers and small boats in the lower Gulf should keep ashore lasting 8 Jan 2023. Residents along the coast beware of inshore surges.
The final advisory is in effect on 9 January 2022, at 5.00 p.m.
