Tropical Depression over
the upper South China Sea

At
10.00 a.m. LST (31 May 2024), the tropical depression over the
upper South China Sea was centered at latitude 19.5 °N,
longitude 112.0 °E, and the
maximum sustained winds about 55 km/hr. This storm was moving north slowly. It
is expected to intensify to the tropical storm and will make landfall over Guangdong,
China by tonight (31 May 2024) then will downgrade to the tropical depression
and an active low-pressure cell, respectively. Please stay tuned for the
weather update.
