Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 6 (76/2023)
During 12 - 14 March 2023, the moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea while hot weather occurs in the upper country. At the same time, the westerly trough will move through the North. Outbreak thunderstorms with gust and hail are likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East. People should beware of the severe condition by keeping off open-air, big trees and unsecured billboards, and farmers should prevent for crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 12 March 2023
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lam Phu and Udon Thani.
On 13 March 2023
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Central: Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 14 March 2023
East: Chanthaburi and Trat.
The advisory is in effect on 12 March 2023, at 5.00 a.m.
This next issue will be at 12 March 2023, at 5.00 p.m.
