From 9 to 15 May, the active low-pressure cell over the lower portion of Bengal Bay will likely develop into a tropical cyclone. It will then move from middle Bengal through the upper bay of bengol. As a result, the stronger southwesterly wind prevails across the Andaman Sea with more rains in Thailand. Heavy rains are also possible in some places. In the upper Andaman Sea, the strong wind forces the waves up to about 2 meters high and in thundershowers more than 3 meters high. Meanwhile the lower Andaman Sea has the waves 1-2 meters high and in thundershowers more than 2 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should keep ashore.
The advisory is in effect on 9 May 2023, at 5.00 p.m.
