Subject: Summer Storm in Thailand
No. 9 (99/2023)
The moderate high-pressure system from China extend to the Northeast and the East of Thailand and the South China Sea. As a result, the southerly and the southeasterly winds prevailing over the upper country will strengthen where hot to very hot occur. Outbreak of summer storms accompanying with thunderstorms, gusty winds, hail and lightning strikes are likely in the upper country. People in the upper country should beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent for crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 8 April 2023
North: Tak, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin and Si Sa Ket.
Central: Lop Buri, Saraburi, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram and including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 9 April 2023
North: Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram and including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao and Chonburi.
The advisory is in effect on 8 April 2023, at 5.00 p.m.
