Tropical Cyclone “MOCHA”
No.10 (148/2023)
At 4.00 a.m. LST on 15 May, tropical cyclone MOCHA cover Sagaing State, Myanmar or latitude 23.8º N, 95.8º E. Its maximum sustained winds were about 93 km/hr, it was moving north-northeast about 37 km/hr. It is expected to further downgrade to the low pressure. More rains, as well as, isolated heavy rains will be possible in the North. People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows.
The strong wind and waves about 2 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea and in thundershowers more than 2 meters high. The lower Andaman Sea has the waves 1-2 meters high and in thundershowers more than 2 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers area. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore.
The advisory is in effect on 15 May 2023, at 5.00 a.m.
