Tropical Cyclone “MOCHA”
No.11 (149/2023)
At 10.00 a.m. LST on 15 May, tropical cyclone MOCHA cover the upper Myanmar or latitude 24.5º N, 96.5º E. Its maximum sustained winds were about 56 km/hr, it was moving northeast about 37 km/hr. It is expected to further downgrade to the active low pressure cell and causes continuous rains, as well as, isolated heavy rains will be possible in the North. People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows. Farmers should prevent for crop damage.
The strong wind and waves about 2 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea and in thundershowers more than 2 meters high. The lower Andaman Sea has the waves 1-2 meters high and in thundershowers more than 2 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers area. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore.
